Weekend retreat with ‘Edward and the White Bear’

I just got back from a weekend retreat near Nottingham.  I was teaching bowls along with Sarah Humpfries and Hilary Jackson.  They organise regular classes and retreats and taught other projects alongside me and mine.  30 ladies came from as far away as Northern Ireland and we all had such a great time.  It was held at the Kegworth Conference Hotel which is very close to East Midlands Airport.   We all had comfortable rooms along with lots of food.  Whats not to like?IMG_2346

Folks chose to join in with as many or as few of the projects on offer as they liked … a few brought their own projects and just took advantage of the sewing time and advice that was on offer.IMG_2351

Here are all the bowls that were made.IMG_2356

I think most of the ladies were inspired and will make more ….. I certainly sold them much more rope than was provided!

Sarah taught some a lovely aplique technique.IMG_2352

I wish I could tell you about it, but I was busy, so didn’t get a chance to listen!  Hilary demonstrated some lovely holders and bags for sewing equipment.

The weekend is being repeated at the end of the month so I will make sure that I do find out … oh and there is a pool, I will try to get to that too!

Ooo just remembered … as everyone arrived during Friday afternoon, they were offered a little ‘Josephine Doll’ project.  At the end of the weekend a call was put out for all the dolls and here they are!IMG_2353

Thanks everyone, I had a great time and I hope you all did too 🙂
